PUERTO AYORA, SANTA CRUZ ISLAND, GALAPAGOS - FEBRUARY 2007: Inspectors with the Charles Darwin Station inspect the luggage of scientific researchers, as the scientists prepare for an expedition into areas of the islands closed to tourist visitation. The inspectors look for insects, seeds and even excessive dirt that might contain foreign bacteria harmful to the islands' fragile ecosystem. While scientists are strongly supportive of this process, they are also often dismayed at the comparative lack of control placed on tourists and on massive cargo shipments delivered to Puerto Ayora and other towns throughout the archipelago.
