Revelers dressed in orange filled Amsterdam's canals in boats to celebrate King's Day. Former Queen’s Day, held since 1890, became King’s Day, or Koningsdag this year. The change came last year after Queen Beatrix abdicated her post to her son Willem-Alexander who changed the holiday to his birthdate, April 27, but since that falls on a Sunday this year, the party was moved to April 26.
