Skier Eelco van Nieuwenhuijzen descends a mountain slope with snow covered birch trees in the ski area of Niseko, Japan. Niseko is located on the island of Hokkaido and is well known for the deep powder snow. Niseko was named as the world's second snowiest resort in December 2007 with annual average snow fall of 595 inches (15.11 m) after Mt. Baker Ski Area in Washington State with 641 inches (16.30 m).
