Peter McBride is a self-taught freelance photographer whose love of adventure, cultures and the outdoors have taken him on assignment throughout the world. Peter has traveled from the skies of Africa and the rooftop of the Andes Mountains to the trail of Mexican immigrants, the beat of Cuba's streets and the depths of the Galapagos seas. A graduate from Dartmouth College with a degree in English and Environmental Studies, Peter first entered journalism working as a writer for a natural resource publication called High Country News after writing a thesis on public land ranching. Before journalism, Peter ski raced for the United States Development Ski Team and later went on to coach the University of Colorado Ski Team to a NCAA Division I Championship.

His work has appeared in The National Geographic Magazine, Smithsonian, Outside and The New York Times among other national and international publications.

While his ability to hang off cliffs, climb mountains and dangle from planes direct Peter toward adventure assignment work, "I am always drawn to environmental and cultural stories because I am passionate that journalism, is a powerful tool for conservation."

Originally from a Colorado cattle ranch, Peter currently resides in San Francisco.
