SOME HELPFUL TIPS ON SHOOTING & SUBMITTING

  • Questions? Problems?Check out our FAQ
  • E-mailing Image Files:
  • Tests have shown that when emailing an image from within a particular photo app (vs. from your phone's photo library), in many cases, you are not offered options for resolution.
  • To ensure you're offered the option (Actual Size, or Highest Resolution), it may be best to save images from your photo app to your photo library and email them from there, rather then from within the app itself.
    Photo Apps & Image Compression
  • Check for Resolution Options: Check your photography application's preferences and settings for resolution options (sometimes accessible through the app itself, and sometimes must be accessed from your phone's settings area)
  • Shoot in High Res: Shooting using higher res modes may significantly increase the time it takes for the image to render -- but is significantly preferable for licensing purposes.
  • Keep it Simple When possible: limit the number of times and applications you use to process and save one image. The more apps across which your image travels, the more compression will likely take place.
  • There's an App for That: Use an app like Iris Photo Suite to layer the processed image over the original native resolution image. Download how to instructions.
