John Lee is a photographer based in San Francisco. He specializes in portraiture and editorial features.
Previous experience includes a nine-year stint as a staff photographer for the Chicago Tribune, with assignments throughout the United States and in Pakistan, Indonesia, China, Korea, Japan, Haiti, and the Middle East.
Awards and recognitions include twice winning the Photographer of the Year award from the Illinois Press Photographers Association, and numerous other accolades from the Photographer of the Year International (POYi) awards. John was also on the team that won a group Pulitzer Prize in 2001 for the Chicago Tribune's coverage of the American air traffic system. He has served as a faculty member for the prestigious University of Missouri Photojournalism Workshop and recently was a lecturer of photojournalism at San Francisco State University.
